Factory of the Future: A Strategic Transformation
Our « Factory of the Future » program is a continuous improvement and transformation initiative designed to evolve our industrial model. It is built around five strategic pillars:
Technology & Digitalization
We deploy connected and automated production lines supported by advanced digital tools to ensure operational performance, full traceability, and product reliability—all within a secure industrial environment.
Agile and Smart Organization
ACTIA’s manufacturing sites are modular and designed for maximum flexibility. This enables us to handle variable production volumes, short lead times, and highly customized products with agility and responsiveness.
Skills & Human Capital
We continuously invest in upskilling and training programs to foster autonomous, multi-skilled teams. Our people are key drivers of industrial excellence and innovation.
Environmental Responsibility
We are committed to reducing resource consumption, minimizing our carbon footprint, and embedding sustainable practices throughout all manufacturing processes.
Local Roots & Collaborative Ecosystems
ACTIA works closely with local industry, academic, and institutional partners to innovate responsibly and contribute to regional development.

DfX: Design That Drives Competitiveness, Performance, and Quality
ACTIA’s Design for Excellence (DfX) methodology is a powerful accelerator for competitiveness, industrial performance, and product quality. By addressing manufacturing constraints early in the design phase, we develop products that are easier to build, test, and maintain—while ensuring high reliability.
We cover all key DfX domains:
We cover all key DfX domains:
- DfM – Design for Manufacturing
- DfC / DfP – Design to Cost & Procurement
- DfA – Design for Assembly
- DfT – Design for Testability
Our Industrial Design Department leads this approach, developing custom test benches and securing the entire industrialization process to guarantee efficiency and repeatability from design to deployment.

Original Design Manufacturing (ODM)
ACTIA supports customers from the earliest stages of product development. The engineering team provides expertise in board layout, component placement, technology selection, and alignment between design and manufacturing processes. IPC standards are incorporated from the initial design stage to ensure quality and compliance.

Industrialization
ACTIA enhances quality, manufacturability, and testability as early as the design phase. The complete DFx approach (Design for Manufacturing, Test, Assembly…) leverages ACTIA’s deep experience in electronic systems production and utilizes digital tools to ensure thorough, repeatable analysis throughout the process.

Assembly
ACTIA masters all PCB assembly technologies: leaded and lead-free soldering, reflow, adhesive application, X-ray inspection, multi-wave or selective soldering, and both robotic and manual conformal coating processes.

Integration
ACTIA offers flexible integration strategies ranging from dedicated single-product lines to versatile multi-product cells. The modular production approach adapts to customer needs in terms of volumes and complexity.

Testing & Burn-in
Testing strategies are defined during the design phase and enhanced through Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). ACTIA deploys a full suite of testing tools—AOI, flying probe, ICT, functional testers, and VRT chambers. The company designs custom functional testers and continually updates its test systems to ensure industrial excellence.

Supply Chain & Logistics
ACTIA manages the full supply chain lifecycle: procurement, transport, customs, and flow management (regular or ad hoc). Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) and consignment stock models are supported. Since 2011, ACTIA has held Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) certification, ensuring reliable, secure logistics operations.

Sourcing
ACTIA’s global footprint enables close proximity to key markets. Strong purchasing power with distributors and manufacturers provides competitive pricing. ACTIA also manages multi-sourcing strategies, offering alternative supply options—especially crucial in operational maintenance and during component shortages.

Advanced Testing Capabilities to Support Industrial Excellence
ACTIA’s dedicated test engineering department designs, develops, and evolves custom test solutions to verify hardware and software compliance of products manufactured at any of the Group’s facilities.
